photo:_Obits Frances was born on a homestead and farm near Selden, Kan., on June 27, 1924, of pioneer families Everett C. Motz and Grace D. Huffman Motz. Her education started in a one-room schoolhouse called Champion Hill and remained so until the seventh grade. In the 1930's, her dad went to work with the Bureau of Reclamation giving Frances the opportunity to travel and expand her education across the country, graduating from Logan High School in Logan, Kan. Frances met her loving husband, Leslie W. Todd, in Nederland, Colo., and in 1952 they packed up their sons Larry D. and Loren "Bob" Todd and moved to the territory of Alaska. The family lived at the Eklutna Power Project and Eagle River.

Patricia was born Feb. 11, 1951, in Columbus, Ga., to John and Ruth Amerson. Her hometown was Mauk, Ga.

Ronald LeRoy Swavely
Ronald was born Dec. 31, 1929, in Sioux City, S.D., son of Roy Melvin and Hilda Matilda (Statum) Swavely. He moved to Alaska in 1961 when he re-enlisted in the Army and was transferred there. He looked forward to being a part of the growth that would take place in Alaska. He lived in the Eagle River area until 1980 and then moved to Wasilla where he lived until his death. Ronald was an HO-scale train enthusiast, especially the Great Northern and Alaska railroads and also enjoyed doing genealogy. He worked as a house-framing building contractor.
