Eagle River girls routed in CIC opener

Eagle River's season came to a quick end in the opening round of the Cook Inlet Conference tournament on March 2 at West High, as the Wolves fell 88-9 to top-seeded Dimond in a mercy-rule shortened game.

The Lynx outscored Eagle River 30-0 in the first quarter and cruised from there. Keiahnna Engle led Dimond with 23 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists and seven steals in 18 minutes of action.

Nicole Carroll had three points for Eagle River, Danielle Crow and Shaniquia Singleton had two each and Dana Panfil and Karolina Williams each hit a free throw. Cassie Barsalou grabbed a team-high four rebounds for Eagle River, which finished the season 0-22.
