Anderson raised $5,000 to spend two and half months in Uganda teaching life skills to the underprivileged.
In the Spotlight because: Anderson received the Spirit of Youth Award in the Service to Community category. She and other winners will be honored at the Spirit of Youth Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday, March 19 in Anchorage.
Anderson raised $5,000 to spend two and half months in Uganda teaching life skills to the underprivileged. On a local level, she was concerned by the amount of recyclable paper she saw in classroom trashcans. She researched and successfully campaigned for a school recycling program.
