Stoltze deserves positive treatment
First off I would like to thank you for the support you have given local organizations, local residents and your work at keeping the Chugiak-Eagle River area informed and given the respect it deserves. Your commitment to local pride and quality are recognized throughout Southcentral Alaska.
In that respect, I was troubled to read about Rep. Stoltze in your last issue ('Stoltze pops up in draft Palin book', Feb. 24). I understand that the new book maybe newsworthy but I felt the article lacked the support and backing that he deserves. Rep. Stoltze is an integral part of our community; he has been a key support for FOCUS, Inc., our families and all people in our area with disabilities. This is a man that sends birthday cards to all the residents in the Chugiak Senior Center. He is continually involved in helping schools, youth sports, and local business. He is a humble man that maintains a high standard of loyalty and integrity. He has consistently done what is best and what is fair to residents in his area.
As an agency we feel Rep. Stoltze deserved to be supported by his local paper. I hope you and your staff will take some time to write about his good work and the immense positive impact he has made on the lives of Alaskans not just in his district but throughout our state.
