Kendra Louise Park and Gergey Sebastien Pasztor
Kendra Louise Park and Gergey Sebastien Pasztor were engaged to be married on Nov. 6, 2010, in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. The two met in Ivory Coast, West Africa, in 2007, while employed by the same humanitarian organization.
Park is the daughter of former Chugiak residents Edward and Claire Park, now of Marshall, Mo. She is a 1997 graduate of Chugiak High School. Park received Bachelor of Arts degrees in international relations and French from the University of the Pacific, Stockton, Calif., in 2001, and a master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University, New York, in 2007. She is employed by the International Rescue Committee as information manager for IRC's gender-based violence program in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Pasztor is the son of Janos and Christine Pasztor of Geneva, Switzerland. He is a 2001 graduate of Bonn International School, Germany. Pasztor received a Bachelor of Science degree in anatomy from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, in 2004, and a master's degree in political science from the University of Geneva in 2006. He is employed by the Norwegian Refugee Council, in Oslo, Norway, as monitoring and reporting coordinator.
The couple plans to wed July 23, 2011, in Alaska.
