Jackson Wall of Eagle River was selected by The Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation's Take Me Fishing campaign and Discovery Education as one of five first-prize winners of the recent "Explore the Blue" essay contest, one of six total participants chosen to win. The second-grader was notified last week that his essay "Me and my Dolly" was chosen from hundreds of entries as a first-prize winner, and a $100 Sports Authority gift card.
"We are thrilled to be able to reward Jackson for his recognizable passion and talent," said RBFF president and CEO Frank Peterson in a press release. "The enthusiasm we saw in his essay was extremely uplifting. We hope to continue to instill the emotional and social values that boating and fishing bring to the younger generations and we're happy to see that the appreciation is apparent."
