Kimi Elliott and Tyler Nord were engaged to be married May 29, 2010. In the beginning of May 2010, Tyler decided it was the right time to pop the "question." The couple drove to Bird Ridge and made the 3,500-foot climb to the top where Tyler fell to one knee and said, "I'm going to enjoy spending the rest of my life with you, marry me."
Kimi Elliott is the daughter of Bob Elliott and DJ McBride of Eagle River. She was born in Belgium, raised in Chugiak and graduated from Chugiak High. Elliot received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage and is a certified motorcycle safety instructor. She enjoys hiking, road and mountain biking, riding motorcycles, rock climbing, swimming and monkeys.
Tyler Nord is the son of Donna Boje and Terry Nord of Portland, Ore. He attended Oregon State University and obtained a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 2007. Tyler works for CRW Engineering Group. He enjoys hiking, mountain biking, or snowboarding, skiing, and being on the trails with their dog, Kobi.
Elliot and Nord first met on a private tour for engineering professionals of the Dena'ina Center around August of 2008. After crossing each other's paths several times, Nord threw a Halloween party and invited Elliot. They began dating shortly after the party.
The couple plans to wed on June 25, 2011, at the Kincaid Chalet in Anchorage.
