Mirror Lake music students show their talents in California
The Mirror Lake Middle School Jazz Band, Concert Band and Orchestra returned from the Heritage Musical Festival last month, and the community has many reasons to be proud of their accomplishments in this challenging musical competition in Anaheim, Calif. Their numerous awards are a direct result of their hard work, talent and hours of practice. It is also due to the overwhelming support of so many in our community. We would specifically like to thank Municipal Light & Power, Chugiak-Eagle River Foundation, Chugiak Lions Club, VFW Post 9785, Nabors Alaska Drilling, Arctic Controls, Inc., Chugiak Area Business Association, IBEW-Local 1547, Lynden Air Cargo, LLC, Eagle River Orthodontics, Representative Bill Stoltze, Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 9785, Northern Hearing, Iron, Inc., JD Steel Co. Inc., and Sleeping Lady Mountain Lions Foundation.
It is through the generous donations of the above corporate sponsors and numerous individuals who donated money, items or services for our auction and people who purchased raffle tickets or Jelly Bellies that our musicians had an experience of a lifetime competing against other schools and improving their musical skills. Your involvement in supporting the Mirror Lake Middle School Music Program was greatly appreciated and your investment in the youth of our community makes a positive difference. Thank you!
