Rough-cut Dimond puts dent in Chugiak girls record

Alaska Star staff

Dimond 1, Chugiak 0

Chugiak dropped to 7-3-2 on the season with a tough 1-0 loss to Dimond on May 2 at Huffer Stadium.

The Mustangs got the better of Dimond when it came to scoring chances and time of possession, but that doesn't always translate into victory, said coach Paul Brehmer.

"(We) had a lot of opportunities to win it, it just didn't work out that way," he said.

Bobbye Pendelton scored Dimond's lone goal in the 66th minute.

Chugiak 4, West Valley 2

Tristyn Hall scored twice as Chugiak recovered from an early 1-0 deficit for a 4-2 win over West Valley on April 29 at Tom Huffer Sr. Stadium.

Jessi Beverlin and Sue Fleurant also scored for the Mustangs in the nonconference affair.
