Renee Arturo of Eagle River achieved a Masters of Education in curriculum and instruction: reading from Concordia University in Portland.
Amanda Hesser of Eagle River achieved a bachelor's degree in psychology with honors from University of Alaska in Anchorage. She graduated as an honor scholar from the UAA honors college, which requires graduates to take 18 credits of honors courses, 40 hours of community service, and submit a six-credit thesis. Hesser served her community service at the Alaska Moving Arts Center in Eagle River. She is the daughter of Becky Hesser-Horst and David Horst of Eagle River. Hesser is a 2006 graduate of Chugiak High School, where she graduated magna cum laude, and one of 12 students that year who graduated as an honors scholar holding a GPA of 3.8.
