Toddler found home alone

Anchorage police said they went to a home on Birch Park Circle in Eagle River on May 5 after 911 dispatchers reported a hang-up from the address. Once there, officers found a 4-year-old girl home alone and her mother out walking the dog, police spokeswoman Anita Shell said. The woman said she left because the girl was only going to be alone for a short time, Shell said. She was not charged with any crime but the case was forwarded to the state Office of Children's Services.
