School district gives Denali award to Gruening administrator
Suzanne Brown, assistant principal at Gruening Middle School, is among four Anchorage School District employees, and a team of colleagues, who were recognized Monday by the Anchorage School Board.
Brown received the Denali Award, a biannual recognition program that honors employees who have shown outstanding achievement, service and dedication, according to a press release from school district spokeswoman Heidi Embley.
It is the highest level of recognition offered by the school district.
The other recipients hail from Anchorage: Jessica Limbird and Linnet Moser of Airport Heights Elementary, Laura Nevada of Bayshore Elementary, and the Russian Jack Elementary School Leadership Team, including Shannon Donley, Karly Garber, Marti Guzman, Adrian LeBlanc, Terry Loper, Lora Lynch, Tonia Manning, Stephanie Oja, Monica Plantikow Dudley, Molly Scott, Linda Self, Judi Westfall and Principal Sharon Story.
Supervisors nominate employees for the Denali award.
