Mustangs get to brag
Chugiak slugger Cameron Fritz homered to lead Chugiak to a 7-3 win over Eagle River in the final high school game of the season for both teams on May 23 at Oberg Field.
The Mustangs finished the prep season 6-4. Chugiak won its final six games of the season, and beat Eagle River twice. The Mustangs also handed Bartlett an 11-3 defeat on May 19 and got past East 5-2 on May 21.
Eagle River wound up 3-7. Neither team qualified for the state playoffs, although players from both teams will soon make up the bulk of the area's two American Legion summer teams, which begin play later this month.
