Chugiak's junior varsity team made its way through the loser's bracket to claim the Cook Inlet Conference JV title on May 26 at Albrecht Fields in Anchorage. The Mustangs had to beat South twice that day, opening with a 10-1 win and hanging on for an 11-10 victory in the title game. Carly Metcalf and Katy Bakker pitched in the victories.
The wins capped a 25-1 season for the team and gave the Mustangs a second consecutive CIC junior varsity title.
