Arsons reported in area
The Anchorage Fire Department is investigating a series of arsons in the area recently.
Among several reported in the Eagle River area was one at a scorekeepers shack at Lions Park and a brush fire that was started by an incendiary device near Crestview and Eagle River Road, according to an AFD press release.
Authorities report an increase in arsons across the municipality ranging from vehicles and wildland areas to other miscellaneous structures. Since April 1, the Anchorage Fire Department has responded on 52 wildland fires. Of those 15 have been juvenile related, the department said.
