Patricia A. Amerson, 59, died Nov. 12, 2010, at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, Ga., due to complications of rheumatoid arthritis.
Patricia was born Feb. 11, 1951, in Columbus, Ga., to John and Ruth Amerson. Her hometown was Mauk, Ga.
An Air Force "brat" growing up in Eagle River, she attended Chugiak High School. Prior to moving south, she homesteaded in the wilderness of Alaska for many years. Her passion was animals. She was a Christian by faith, and a member, Sunday school teacher and former pianist for Open Door Ministries in Geneva, Ga.
Patricia is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lynne and Larry North of Mauk, Ga; sister-in-law, Jackie Amerson of Peters Creek; nieces and nephews, Cortney Butler and Jessica North, Logan Burdwell (Molly) and Chris North, all of Mauk, Ga., LCPL Taylor Amerson, U.S. Marine Corps, Jacksonville, N.C., and Sean Amerson of Peters Creek; great-niece and nephews, Alexandreia Garcia, Ryan Butler and Garrett Ross.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Amerson and brother, Tim Amerson.
The funeral took place on Nov. 15, 2010, at the Tante Funeral Home Chapel, Buena Vista, Ga. The burial followed at Springhill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Oakland, Ga.
Arrangements were made by Tante Funeral Home, Buena Vista, Ga.
